UN's Sustainable Development Goal, Agenda 2030, creates new target where the transport sector contributes to a sustainable society. Several of UN's 17 goals concerns the transport sector and give directions towards the future [1], [2]. Over 1.5 million persons are added to the total global urban population every week. This fact needs a new urban agenda in order to accommodate 2 billion new urban citizens in the future [3], [4]. This rapid change in urbanisation is placing great demands on society, infrastructure, services, job creation, climate and environment [5]. The climate change is happening and gives scarcity of resources. Increased certainty and accuracy about those impacts gives demands of the global population by 2030: +35% Food, +40% Water, +50% Energy. However, sustainability is the lens through which this will take place in the world. Existing and new business will be judged by its ability to adapt, adopt and improve its sustainable solutions. There will be a change in global economic power, Brazil and Russia are both now in recession and the previous major engine of global growth, China, has also seen its economy slowing down. However, India offers the world an exception. Its potential is revealed by the “World in 2050 report” [6], indicating that India could overtake the US as the world’s second largest economy by 2050 and should be the third largest economy by 2030. Demographic change will happen and by 2030 the world’s population is projected to rise and 97% of this population growth, will come from emerging or developing countries. People are living longer and having fewer children and the ageing population gives that by 2050 there will be just two working age people per one elderly person in Europe [7]. Addressing that shortfall of work personnel will require greater workforce. The future technological breakthroughs will have a great impact on society. Digital change is irreversible, constant, ubiquitous and fast. Today, 51% of CEOs are now making significant changes in how they use technology [8]. New emerging economies are adopting technologies faster, than developed markets, giving transformation from Business to Consumer (B2C) to ‘all to all’. Tomorrows employees will have very high expectations from their everyday use of digital apps and platforms at work. The younger generations are born into a digital world and this new world will have an impact on how we use the technology and how the future education system will look like. Technology is not simply a tool any more, our essential relationship with technology is qualitatively different from today. We need to acknowledge and direct activities to accommodate this reorientation. A shift in mind-set, giving a platform for crowd intelligence and a reshaping of the relationships that people have with one another. New maturing technologies offer huge potential and organisations need to find a cost effective way to adopt, adapt, improve, experiment, implement and learn from these technologies. This is to make sure that they use them to create value, hence a cost efficient implementation is needed.
