Sammanfattning:
Assessing Performance is a necessity for any industry to survive under the competitive global business scenario today. Performance assessment of engineering asset is a complex activity, as it involves various stakeholders, both internal and external, with considerations of different issues and challenges. Thus, it is essential to study the business organization, its engineering assets in use, different performances which need to be assessed and how to assess i.e. the condition monitoring tools and techniques required to be adopted. Besides, the data collection from the performance assessment, its analysis, storage and application for appropriate decision making need to considered from safety, reliability and optimization point of view during the conceptual, planning and implantation stages. While undertaking these tasks, the stakeholders’ needs are required to be considered from different organizational hierarchical levels from the context of engineering assets in use. In this paper, the author has tried to discuss the performance assessment of engineering asset from a multi-criteria and hierarchical level, which needs to be holistic and balanced for the industrial application.
